Kirjeldus
Victorino („Ibeeria pull” sümboliseerib võimu ja tugevust, samas ka elegantsust) on valmistatud 100% Tinta de Toro (Tempranillo) pre-phylloxera Tempranillo viinamarjadest, mis tulevad Villabuena del Puente, Valdefinjase ja Toro külade veiniaedadest. Viinapuude vanus on üle 45 aasta. Keskmine saagikus on 15 hl/ha (seadusega on lubatud 42 hl/ha). Koristatakse ainult ideaalses küpsuses olevad viinamarjad ja eranditult käsitsi. Saagi korjamine on septembri viimane nädal kuni oktoobri esimene nädal. Käärimine toimub 8 päeva 26-28 kraadi juures ning kõik viinamarjad on käsitsi 100% vartest eemaldatud. Veinivirre on kestadega kontaktis 14 päeva. Malolaktiline käärimine toimub 100% uutes Prantsuse tammevaatides. Veini laagerdatakse uues Prantsuse tammes 18 kuud.
Värvuselt on vein sügav lilla, peaaegu must. Aroomis on tunda eksootilisi vürtse, küpseid tumedaid marju, pehmet tamme ja suitsu. Maitselt on vein jõuline, pehmete tanniinidega, laialivalguv, tunda on tubakat, vürtse, nahka ja murakat. Väga pika ja elegantse järelmaitsega. Vananemispotentsiaal üle 10 aasta. Parim serverveerimistemperatuur on 18 kraadi ja soovitav on veini dekanteerida mitu tundi enne tarbimist.
“Defined aromas, exuberant. Deep cherry color. Complex nose, expressive, spicy, mineral ripe fruit, black fruit, blueberry. Palate is full-bodied, long, great length.” Peñín Guide 95 points “Podium Award”
“An outstanding Toro wine that’s structured but polished, with piles of dusty tannins. Rich, meaty blackberries, dark chocolate and some graphite and sweet spices. Full and broad, with a long, flavorful finish. Tight and slightly peppery finish. Drink from 2026.” James Suckling 95 points
“The 2021 Victorino, originating from Toro and aged for 20 months in oak barrels, displays a dark garnet color. Its balsamic nose offers notes of bay leaf, thyme, vanilla, blueberry and blackberry. Rich and bold, the relatively concentrated palate features an indulgent flow and fine-grained tannins. This Toro red is bold with a balanced mouthfeel. Drink 2025-2041.” Antonio Galloni Vinous 94 points
“The 2021 Victorino is all Tinta de Toro from very old, head-trained fines and was raised entirely in new oak. Black and blue fruits, spicy oak, graphite, and a kiss of lead pencil all define the bouquet, and it’s medium to full-bodied on the palate, with beautifully integrated oak, ripe, polished tannins, and a great finish. Its purity as well as overall balance are exceptional.” Jeb Dunnuck 94 points
“The 2021 Victorino has a little less alcohol than its siblings, 14.58%, and a little more freshness and acidity. It was produced with grapes from 35 hectares of old vines in La Jara and El Palo (Toro), El Rosal and El Risco en Villabuena del Puente and in Valdefinjas. It matured in new French oak barrels for 20 months. The toasted aromas from the barrels are still quite noticeable, but it’s not overpowering and the oak gives the wine spiciness and creaminess. This is textured and balanced, with a mellow mouthfeel and abundant, slightly dusty and chalky tannins. This is reminiscent of the 2018, a year with abundant rains and larger bunches. Give it some more time in bottle to achieve a better integration of the oak and the polishing of the tannins. 44,800 bottles produced. It was bottled in August 2022.” Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate 93+ points
