“Colonia Las Liberes is made from 100% Cabernet Franc grapes, grown in a vineyard with organic management conducted on trellises, located in Lujan de Cuyo, Mendoza. In this area, with a semi-desert climate and at an altitude of 900 meters above sea level, the thermal amplitude between day and night stands out. The soils, originated by alluvial sediments from the Andes Mountains, have a fine sandy-silty texture with a low proportion of coarse elements in their matrix. This composition, added to its deep horizons and great water retention capacity, favors the development of a fresh root ecosystem, ideal for coping with the high temperatures typical of the Mendoza summer.

Vinified in 300hl stainless steel tanks, at a controlled temperature. The process lasted 10 days, from the reception of the grapes, including daily pump-overs. It was aged in cement vats, without coming into contact with wood at any time, to preserve the freshness of the wine and allow the grape to fully express itself.

Colonia Las Liebres Cabernet Franc shows the fresh and spicy side of the variety. It comes from stony soils, located at the foot of the Andes Mountains. On the nose it is floral, with aromas of roses, but also with notes of red fruits. The cool mountain breeze, added to organic viticulture and minimal intervention oenological practices, translate into a pure wine, full of flavor. On the palate it has a medium body, with fine and juicy tannins, and a soft and long finish.”
