Domaine Anita is located in the heart of the Moulin à Vent cru in Beaujolais, France. The winery was established by Anita Kuhnel, a former professional cyclist, in 2015. She took over 18 hectares of vines first planted in 1973. The vineyard includes some of the most prestigious crus of Beaujolais including Moulin à Vent, Morgon, Chénas, Fleurie, as well as some plots located on great terroirs of the Beaujolais-Villages appellation. Anita’s viticultural practices are specific to each plot, but always within her overarching philosophy of sustainable viticulture, with minimal treatments, green harvesting and strong canopy management. In the cellar, Anita is assisted by Guy Marion, former head of winemaking at Georges Duboeuf with no less than 52 harvests in Beaujolais.

Les Moriers has always been one of the most renowned terroirs of Fleurie. Its granitic soil imparts floral and spicy aromas to the wine from its very beginning. On the palate, this cuvée develops tannins of incredible flavor and finesse. Despite its young age of 5 years, this vineyard, thanks to meticulous care, possesses the grace of a grand cru.

“So deep and so fine, this has beautifully ripe blackberry fruit and delicate floral notes. A really rich wine for 2021 but it also has a breathtaking balance of fruit, mineral acidity and delicate savoury nuances. Extremely long, precise and silky finish. From old vines in a site where wines often resembles Moulin-a-Vent. Drink or hold.” James Suckling 95 points (2021 vintage)

“This is how I imagine the great Beaujolais of the 1947 and 1959 vintages must have tasted when they were young and the reputation of Beaujolais was much higher than it is today. The perfume of a whole garden of summer flowers is underlined by blackberry fruit and a stunning freshness for this hot and dry vintage. Spectacular minerality envelopes you in the very long finish. And behind all this beauty is a terrific structure. Drink or hold.” James Suckling 97 points (2022 vintage)

“A breathtaking expression of the powerful side of Fleurie, which combines the richness of Cote Rotie from the Rhone with a freshness that is totally Beaujolais! Great concentration, a wealth of fine tannins and a wide spectrum of blackberry and red-rose aromas wrapped around all of this almost ideally rounded, medium- to full-bodied palate. Phenomenal stony minerality at the almost endless, wide-screen finish. Drink or hold.” James Suckling 97 points (2023 vintage)
