Charmes de Kirwan on Chateau Kirwani “noorem vend”, väljendab selgelt endas Chateau Kirwan’i ja Schyler’i perekonna “vaimu”, oskusi, traditsioone ja unikaalsust. Vein on valmistatud sama viinamarjade proportsiooni järgi, mis Chateau Kirwan. Valmistatakse iseseisva veinina, sama nime all villitakse ka veinisegud, millest mingil põhjusel ei saa mõisa esimest veini. Valmistamiseks kasutatakse 42% Merlot, 25% Cabernet Sauvignon, 19% Petit Verdot ja 14% Cabernet Franc viinamarju. Viinapuuaedade kogupindala on 35 hektarit, pinnas koosneb valdavalt peenest kruusast tihedal savikihil. Viinamarjade kääritamine ja matseratsioon toimub automaatse temperatuurikontrolliga roostevabaterasest või betoonist mahutites, pärast käärimisprotsessi lõppemist vein laagerdub kokku 16 kuud, umbes 50% kord varem kasutatud tammevaatides ja ülejäänud vein küpseb munakujulistes betoonmahutites. Vein valmistatakse igast viinamarjasordist eraldi ning seejärel segatakse.

Värvuselt on vein sügav purpur-punane, aroom on puuviljaline ja taimne, tunda punaseid marju, nahka, vürtse. Maitse on harmooniline, pehme ja väga hästi tasakaalustatud, võimsa struktuuriga, pehmete tanniinidega. Suurepärane erinevate punasest lihast roogadega ja juustudega. Serveerida umbes 18 kraadi juures.

“Les Charmes de Kirwan is the second wine of the property, launched in 1993. It is the main wine’s “little brother” and is generally made from the fruit of the youngest vines and parcels of the vineyard that are less gravelly, but sandier. The wine is made highlighting its fruit and maximising suppleness. It can therefore be enjoyed younger. This Vintage 2019 Charmes de Kirwan does justice to its name. “This Charmes de Kirwan 2021 has a beautiful ruby/cherry colour. The nose is initially dominated by ripe cherries, evolving towards notes of marzipan and liquorice. The attack on the palate is supple and open, enlivened by a lovely acidity that encourages aromatic expression. The high proportion of Petit Verdot (19%) adds tension and length to the wine. This is a crisp, easily digestible and highly aromatic wine. It can therefore be quickly enjoyed in all circumstances.” James Suckling 91 points
