Bollinger rosé champagne on algselt ja ennekõike La Grande Année, mida valmistatakse vaid erakordsetel saagiaastatel, ideaalse küpsuse ja sobivaima happesuse-magususe tasakaaluga viinamarjadest. La Grande Année Rosé on oma olemuselt segu aastakäigu champagne’st ja väikesest kogusest punasest Coteaux Champenois AC veinist La Cote aux Enfants.

La Grande Année Rosé 2015 on valmistatud 62% Pinot Noir ja 38% Chardonnay viinamarjadest, 19-st erinevast “cru” viinamarjaaiast Champagne piirkonnast, nendest 80% “grand cru” ja 20% “premiers cru” aedadest Ay, Bouzy, Louvois, Verzenay, Mareuil-sur-Ay, Mesnil s/Oger, Oger, Cuis, Cramant ja Chouilly külakeste ümbrusest. La Grande Année esmane käärimisprotsess toimub 205, 225 ja 410 liitri suurustes vanades tammevaatides, mis on 5 ja enam aastat vanad. Kõik viinamarjasordid ja eri viinamarjaaiad kääritatakse eraldi. Punase veini osa lõplikust segust on loodud 100% Pinot Noir viinamarjadest, mis pärinevad väikesest, vaid 1 hektari suurusest La Cote aux Enfants üksikviinamarjaaiast Ay külakeses. Lõplik segu moodustatakse proportsioonis 95% Grande Année’d ja 5% Coteaux Champenois punaveini. Veini küpsemisperiood pärmisettel pudelis kestab 7 aastat, pudelid kinnitatakse sel perioodil ajutiste “seenkorkidega”. Pärmisette dégorgé toimub käsitsi ja veinile lisatakse dosage 8 grammi liitri kohta ning kinnitatakse seenkorkide ja traatkinnitusega.

La Grande Année Rosé on sügava värvuse ja rikkaliku aroomiga, suurepärane struktuur, meeldivalt täidlane, jõuline, hea küpsusega, puuviljaline, ümar ja rikkalik. Serveerida 8 – 10 kraadi juures.

“Like a racing spinnaker, this is tightly trimmed yet voluminous in character. Toasty notes of roasted almond and vanilla wafer are deftly integrated with sun-dried black cherry, baked peach, blood orange sorbet and candied ginger flavors, all well-defined by racy acidity and a subtle streak of salinity. “Bollinger’s 2015 Brut La Grande Année Rosé was disgorged in May last year with seven grams per liter dosage. Offering up deep aromas of orchard fruits, blood orange, mandarin rind and peach mingled with nuances of coffee, praline and fino sherry, it’s medium to full-bodied, pillowy and layered, with a broad attack that segues into a vinous palate framed by high levels of structuring dry extract that makes its presence felt on the sapid, nutty and penetrating finish. Given the skin maturity and inherent structure of the year, the Bollinger team elected to include only 4.5% of still red wine in the blend, a comparatively low percentage.” Wine Advocate 96 points

“Born from the addition of five percent of La Côte aux Enfants red wine into the white La Grande Année blend, this fine rosé delights with its sweet fruity appeal of freshly crushed strawberries, apricot tart, candied fruit and orange peel. Rather fruit-forward and highly youthful for the time being, there is much more aromatic complexity to surface over time. The fine quality of the red wine of the year can be sensed on the palate, where the tannin structure feels firm but extremely elegant. Its mouthfeel is juicy with an attractive rounding oiliness to the texture. The wine is free of the common vegetal austerity of the year, instead it shows the richness and deliciousness of its sun-kissed harvest year. “Base wine, the same as the white Grande Année 2015 tinted by 5% still red wine from the famous Côte aux Enfants vineyard, was all aged in oak. Blend of 11 crus, predominantly 62% Pinot Noir from Verzenay, Aÿ and Mareuil-sur-Aÿ and 38% Chardonnay from Chouilly and Avize. Disgorged July 2023. Pale, slightly gris salmon pink (a little paler than the Billecart 2012 Elisabeth Salmon rosé tasted alongside). Heady, mushroomy, off-dry, sumptuous Bollinger gloriousness on the palate. I wonder what the dosage is, and whether the richness comes mainly from the fruit and oak? Finishes dry, but with wonderfully soothing impact on the palate. Relatively gentle mousse. “This elegant, medium-bodied rosé includes select plots of pinot noir from the Cote Aux Enfants vineyard. It shows a medium orange-amber color, dark cherry-skin and candied-plum aromas followed by vivid strawberry and blood-orange flavors. Marked by finesse, light but very flavorful, complex and layered. “The 2015 Brut Grand Année Rosé is quite open in its aromatics but much more reticent on the palate. It’s a Champagne that is going to need some time to be at its finest. Chalk, white pepper, grapefruit, blood orange and mint lend notable presence in the bouquet. Today, the 2015 comes across as a touch ethereal and also quite different in overall feel than the Blanc.
