Kirjeldus
PN TX20 on Bollingeri Blanc de Noirs’i “6th release”. Veini idee on demonstreerida Bollingeri ühte peamist tugisammast Pinot Noir’d läbi erinevate veiniaedade. Igal aastal tuleb müügile 100% Pinot Noir’st valmistatud šampanja aga alati mõnest uuest külast või cru’st. Kuues väljalase PN TX20 pärineb valdavalt Tauxières külast (40% marjadest), ülejäänud marjadest on saadud Aÿ ja Avenay külade aedadest. Veini baasaastakäik on 2020 (50% segust), ülejäänud segust on “reserve” veinid, 25% aastakäik 2019 (hoitud terasest mahutites) ja ülejäänud 25% on “reserve” veinid aastakäikudest 2008 ja 2012 (hoitud magnum pudelites). Vein on pudelis küpsenud 4 aastat, dosage on 8 grammi liitri kohta, disgorgement on tehtud veebruaris 2025.
“Very vinous. Captivating aromas of subtle strawberries, flint, gunmetal and crushed stones. Medium-bodied with beautiful purity and length, this has ultrafine bubbles that blend in nicely and go on for minutes. Real clarity.” James Suckling 95 points
“With the sixth edition of its PN series Bollinger is back to Tauxières as the core village (38%), complemented by Aÿ and Avenay. In a sunny and dry year, this terroir thrives, and Bollinger has 18 hectares here in one huge block. The wines of the year get complimented by 52% of reserve wines of three amazing harvest years: 2019, 2012 and 2008. Add on it Bollinger’s ever-improving viticultural work, we have a wine that is precise and deliciously on the fruit. Soft apple and sweet apricot nose with pastry complexity, fruit candies and peach compote. The oaky notions stay beautifully in the background, On the palate the oak has helped in taming the phenolics of the dry, solar year. Supple with a degree of vinosity, the mature reserve wines add texture to the mid palate. On the lighter and fresher side for cuvée PN, this is a charming edition with its deliciously fruity and saline length, enhanced by its 8g/l dosage.” Essi Avellan 93-95 points
“For this exciting and explosive edition of PN, Bollinger once again chose fine, but unknown Tauxières as the starting point and dominant together with a smaller part of Aÿ and Avenay. 2020 is the base vintage with 48% of the cuvée. 52% reserve wines from magnum and steel tank with 2008 and 2012 as the oldest components to 25% of the whole. And finally a moderate dosage of 8 grams. Beautiful light golden color and an explosive and intense, now characteristic aroma of the reserve wines on magnum. So a kind of Bollinger without barrels in just that part. The barrel notes are clearer in the mouth where the nuts appear together with a small whisper of the forest. Otherwise, I mostly find apricot jam and white peaches in the fruity part together with geranium and a very flinty mineral finish. Never miss the chance to buy a few bottles of each new edition of PN as they are always among the most affordable you can buy in all of Champagne and drink this beauty after 2030 for its full potential.” Richard Juhlin 94 points
“An enticing waft of fragrant spices draws you into the glass, where ripe and juicy black cherry and currant fruit is underscored by a clean swathe of underlying salinity. Details of pickled ginger, crystallized honey, biscuit and white blossoms expand nicely on the plush mousse, which is raw silk–like in feel. This is rich and expressive, with good depth, yet its chiseled acidity provides fine definition throughout. Mouthwatering finish.” Wine Spectator 94 points
“Bollinger’s PN series has only gained in popularity, showcasing the house’s expertise with Pinot Noir. For the latest edition, the house has reverted to the lesser-known Pinot Noir premier cru of Tauxières in a cool pocket of the southern face of the Montagne de Reims, comprised once more of just under half of the base year plus reserves from 2019 and 2018, and reserves from 2012 and 2008 aged in magnum. At first it’s full of the exuberant pink-tinged fruit of the ultra-ripe, hot season; juicy raspberry and sweet apricots, rounded and approachable. Both the cool, chalky restraint of the village and the added shot of smoky, charry, honeyed richness of the reserve wine – not to mention the acid focus of the 2008 and 2012 – elevate it dramatically, leaving the wine with no lack of drive and refreshment factor. This is another highly imaginative, rewarding release, a little less mineral and restrained than the PN VZ 19, yet just as layered. Drink 2025-2030.” Decanter Magazine 94 points
“The NV PN-TX20 is a powerful, tightly wound wine. All the drive of Pinot comes through in this decidedly virile Champagne. As with all the wines in this new series from Bollinger, the NV PN-TX20 is built around a base wine, in this case 2020 Pinot Noir from Tauxières, with 50% reserve wines, half of them from Bollinger’s extensive library of reserve wines aged in magnum.” Antonio Galloni Vinous 93+ points
“Pouring a pale silver/yellow color, the NV Champagne Pinot Noir TX20 is representative of the fruitiness of the vintage and the purity of the citrus, with notes of white grapefruit, hazelnut, and fresh bread dough. It’s a fresh expression that doesn’t get the toastiness you might expect, but has the fruitiness and a frothy, bubbly mousse.” Jeb Dunnuck 93 points
