Kirjeldus
Château Lafleur on koos Château Pétrusi ja Le Pin’iga kindlasti Pomeroli ja kogu Bordeaux hierarhia absoluutses tipus. Lafleuri ajalugu ulatub tagasi aastasse 1872 ja veinimõis on sama perekonna (Guinaudeau) omanduses tänaseni. Tegemist on igas mõttes ebatavalise Bordeaux veinimõisaga.
Chateau Lafleur’i valgete veinide lipulaev on Les Champs Libres, vein on valmistatud 100% Sauvignon Blanc viinamarjadest, mis on kasvanud 0.8 hektari suuruses veiniaias, kus pinnases on savi-lubjakivi segu. 80% veiniväätidest pärinevad Sancerre’ist ja 20% on Bordeaux kloonid. Vein laagerdus 9 kuud Prantsuse tammevaatides, millest 80% on uued tammevaadid.
Vein on värske, rikkalik ja samas mineraalne. Tunda on valget virsikut, karusmarju, sidrunheina, laimilehti, jasmiini, metsikut tüümiani, mandleid ja taustal ka ingverit. Järelmaitse on kauakestev, mineraalne ja natuke burgundialik. Esimene aastakäik oli 2013. Kindlasti üks rariteetsemaid “radarialuseid” Bordeaux valgeid veine.
“As ever one of my favourite Bordeaux whites, this is truly impressive, conveying the flesh, spice and structure that give you a clue to the vintage conditions, but coupled with white pear, cooling mint leaf, lemongrass and citrus. Clay over limestone soils help solve the challenges of the year, and perhaps the Sancerre clones add distinctiveness also but what is clear is that as ever the Lafleur team shows that you don’t have to accept what the vintage gives you, that you can work through the pitfalls and find the brilliance within. Olivier Trégoat part of the planting team, but other than that no outside consultant. Drink 2025-2040.” Jane Anson 95 points (2022 vintage)
“This is so gorgeous already, showing white peaches and lemon blossoms with sliced-citrus character. Medium-bodied, this has attractive flamboyant fruit but a splendid energy from the backbone of acidity. This will age beautifully. Pure sauvignon blanc. Drink or hold.” James Suckling 95 points (2022 vintage)
“Has there been a better launch in Bordeaux in recent years than this wine? Once again it presents an arresting, steel-tipped example of what can be produced in the region. Pummice stone texture, shot through with citrus, lime bud, lime zest, sage, grated ginger, confit lemon, with energy and lift. Unracked until this point, 80% new oak for ageing. Hard not to want to own this wine, from the same team as Lafleur in Pomerol.” Jane Anson 97 points (2023 vintage)
“The Les Champs Libres 2023 Blanc is one of the white wines of the vintage. Exhaling aromas of lime blossom, spices, confit citrus, lemon oil and spring flowers, it’s chalky and concentrated with fleshy, structuring tannins and bright acids that segues into a long, saline and mineral finish. This is crafted from 100% Sancerrois massal selections of Sauvignon Blanc. Kudos! Drink 2025-2045.” Wine Advocate 94-96 points (2023 vintage)
