Kirjeldus

Redoma Branco viinamarjad pärinevad väikesest ja vanast veiniaiast (40-80 aasta vanused), kus kasvavad erinevad viinamarjasordid, millest põhilised on Rabigato, Codega do Larinho, Arinto, Gouveio ja Viosinho. Need erilised viinapuud võimaldavad teha värske, delikaatse, mineraalse ja samas kompleksse veini. Veiniaed asub 400 – 700 meetri kõrgusel merepinnast.

Viinamarjad koristatakse septembris ja eranditult käsitsi. Peale hoolikat sorteerimist, pressitakse viinamarjad öösel madalal temperatuuril ja jäetakse 24 tunniks seisma. Käärimine toimub 228 ja 500 liitri suurustes Prantsuse tammevaatides 18 kraadi juures. Vein laagerdub samades 228 ja 500 liitri suurustes Prantsuse tammevaatides 8 kuud, malolaktilist käärimist ega ümberpumpabist ei tehta.

Aroom on väga mineraalne, tunda on tsitrust, valgeid lilli ja suitsust tamme. Maitse on rikkalik, samas värske ja kerge, eristuvad tsitruse ja mandli noodid. Järelmaitse on äärmiselt kauakestev ja mineraalne. Toitudest sobib ideaalselt ahjus küpsetatud kalaga, valgete lihadega ja juustukastmes pastadega. Aastane kogutoodang umbes 35000 pudelit.

“The 2024 Redoma Branco is already sold out; even though it’s a fairly large production, the demand is very high, especially in Portugal, so it’s a wine that sells out very quickly. Half of the wine leaves the winery as soon as it’s bottled. 2024 is quite similar to 2023, perhaps with easier fermentations—more nitrogen available for the wines, more nutrients—all indigenous, and the wine is more relaxed, perhaps a little rounder. Maybe the word for the 2024 whites is “pretty.” It’s always aged in very well-seasoned, 228- and 500-liter barrels, so there is a spicy and smoky hint, with a core of dry flowers and herbs, a little Burgundian if you like.
