Kirjeldus

Veinimaja kõige ikoonilisem ja kindlasti üks parimaid Blanc de Blancs šampanjasid maailmas. See on ka ainuke Pétersi šampanja, mis tuleb ainult Le Mesnil sur Ogeri külast, veel täpsemini öeldes selles asuvast üksik-veiniaaist Les Chétillons. Pétersi perekond ostis selle väikese 2.5 hektari suuruse Grand Cru veinipõllu 1930ndatel ning on siit üksik-veiniaia šampanjat valmistanud 1971. aastast saadik. Siinsete veinipuude vanus on vahemikus 45-80 aastat. Teistkordne kääritamine pudelis kestis 72 kuud ja pärast disgorgement’i veel 12 kuud. Dosage on 3,5-4,5 g/l kohta, settelt eemaldamine toimus 15.01.2024.

“Very floral with honeysuckle as well as lemongrass. Hints of flint. Medium-bodied, dusty and chalky with yellow lemons coming through on the palate. Citrus flower. A touch of wild florals and fresh straw. Very subtle and vivid. Nice bitterness with botanicals. Salty at the end. Drink or hold.” James Suckling 97 points

“The 2016 Brut Cuvée Spéciale Les Chétillons is an explosive, heady wine. It is, to me, a quintessentially modern Chétillons that offers plenty of Mesnil energy, yet also has more than enough fruit to avoid any feeling of the austerity that once characterized these wines. Crushed rocks, slate, mint, lemon peel and white flowers are all beautifully delineated throughout. The decision to delay the release of this wine by a year going forward seems very well judged. Today, the 2016 is showing so much better than it did last year. Dosage is 4 grams per liter. Antonio Galloni Vinous 96 points

“Rodolphe Péters’ most celebrated cuvée is a blend of three parts of the Chétillon vineyard in Le Mesnil, embodying the village’s glacial, tense and exacting Chardonnay. It’s a cuvée that requires some patience, although the relatively forward 2016 vintage is already revving up with intense dried citrus, plum and orange cream, showing all the acceleration and build on the palate that this forceful cuvée, long one of the Côte des Blanc’s most impressive parcellaire wines, makes its own. Drink 2024-2040.” Decanter 95 points
