Description
“Actually a “vintage” from one high quality harvest year, selection of 4 top Grand Cru parcels in Le Mesnil, Avize, Cramant, Oger. 80% of the base wine is from 2021 vintage, 20% of the blend is from “Perpetual Reserve”. Ageing in the cellar for 36 months in the bottle on the lees, dosage 2 g/l. Disgorgement 17.07.2024.”
Notes from the past
“A beautifully balanced wine with sliced fresh and cooked apple with hints of cream and some bread dough and brioche. Medium-bodied with a lovely creamy texture. Beautiful balance.” James Suckling 95 points (July 2023)
“Chardonnay from the Côte des Blancs Grands Crus, 75% of which is the ‘L’Esprit’ blend of 2018 with the remainder formed of perpetual reserve of the Brut Réserve. This is quite superb, the reserves amplifying the ripe 2018 character, all generous pineapple and orange stone fruits, with layers of salty pastry, blossom and white butter. A stony, drying presence on the back end makes this fine extra-brut feel truly grounded in the central Côte des Blancs.” Tim Atkin 93 points (December 2022)
“The NV Blanc de Blancs Grand Cru Extra Brut is entirely from the 2014 vintage and was sourced in four parcels of the Côte des Blancs. Opening with potted ginger and white flowers on the clear, fresh, precise and chalky nose, this is a pure, fresh, elegant, beautifully dry and chalky grand cru with an expressive, stimulating iodine-inflected finish that reveals a persistent structure and freshness. This is a damned serious and chalky Blanc de Blancs that was disgorged in January 2018 with just two grams of dosage. Tasted at the domaine in April 2018.” Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate 92 points (August 2018)
