Kirjeldus

Chablis veinipiirkonnas on kokku vaid 100 hektarit Grand Cru viinamarjaaedu, Grenouilles Grand Cru hõlmab sellest 9,38 hektarit ning Louis Michel omab sellest 0,54 hektarit viinapuid lõuna ja edelapoolsetel nõlvakutel Serein’i jõe paremal kaldal. Kasvatatakse 100% Chardonnay viinamarju, aedade pinnas on väga unikaalne, koosnedes Kimmeridgian lubjakivist, mis on erakordselt rikas kivistunud merikarpide setete poolest, andes Chablis piirkonna veinidele nende huvitava omapära. Veiniaia vanus on 50 aastat.

“Though the 2018 Grenouilles from Domaine Louis Michel is as ripe as the Vaudésir, it seems just a tad less tropical in personality, as it delivers a refined bouquet of apple, fresh lime, chalky minerality, beeswax, dried flowers and a topnote of citrus peel. On the palate the wine is pure, full-bodied and rock solid at the core, with a very good girdle of acidity, lovely focus and grip and a long, nascently complex and very promising finish. This is lovely juice.” John Gilman 94 points

“The 2018 Chablis Grenouilles Grand Cru is another intense wine in the range. Extremely savory and mineral in profile, the Grenouilles is compact and totally shut down, which is probably a good thing for its long-term prospects. Dried herbs, chamomile, wild flowers and lemon confit all emerge from a boisterous, tightly wound Chablis. I expect the 2018 will benefit from time in bottle but it will always retain some slightly angular contours.” Jasper Morris 92-94 points

“Wafting from the glass with aromas of yellow orchard fruit, peach, white flowers and honeycomb, the 2018 Chablis Grand Cru Grenouilles is medium to full-bodied, textural and enveloping, with a deep and voluminous core of fruit, ripe but racy acids and a long, mineral finish.” Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate 93 points

“The 2018 Chablis Grenouilles Grand Cru has a complex nose with scents of crushed stone, Chinese white tea and light pressed white flower aromas. The palate is well balanced with a viscous opening, one of the most powerful and intense 2018 Chablis that I have tasted, delivering layers of lightly honeyed fruit laced with spice toward the finish. What it lacks in nervosité, it compensates with sheer hubris!” Antonio Galloni Vinous 93 points
