Description
Wolf ja Bettina Rogosky ostsid 1972. aastal Chianti mägedesse väikese majakese koos oliivipuudega. 1985. aasta öökülmad aga hävitasid kahjuks täielikult nende oliivipuud. Agronoomist sõber soovitas neil oliivipuude asemele hoopis istutada 0.3 hektarit veinipuid aga mitte mõnda tavalist marjasorti, vaid ainulaadset Caberlot nimelist marjasorti, mille ta ise 1960ndatel oli esmakordselt avastanud ühest Veneto mahajäetud veiniaiast. Caberlot’i peetakse Cabernet Franc’i ja Merlot looduslikuks ristandiks. Tänaseni on Il Carnasciale veinimaja 2 hektari suurune Caberlot’i veiniaed ainuke maailmas, kus see viinamarjasort kasvab.

Il Caberloti tehakse ainult magnum formaadis. Vein laagerdub 22 kuud Prantsuse tammevaatides, millest 75% on uued vaadid (keskmise röstiga). Seejärel puhkab vein enne müügile tulekut veel 18 kuud veinimõisas. Aastane toodang on 3,000 magnumit. Kõik pudelid pudeldatakse ja nummerdatakse käsitsi.

The grapes are fermented in stainless steel and undergo malolactic fermentation in barrique, before a 22-month aging period in small French oak (of which 75% is new). The wine is impeccably balanced and concentrated with dark, plummy fruit, spice, tar and savory tobacco.
