Kirjeldus
Louis Michel Butteaux “Vieilles Vignes” premier cru veiniaed on ligi 70 aastat vana ja asub mäe kõige ülemisel nõlvakul, ideaalse positsiooniga päikese suhtes. Pinnas on peamiselt lubjakivine ja savine. Käärimine toimub kasutades ainult naturaalset pärmi. Vein vananeb terasmahutites 12 – 16 kuud. Kerge filtreerimine enne pudeldamist.
Vananemispotentsiaal 15 aastat.
“Domaine Michel’s Vieilles Vignes bottling of Butteaux is made from vines that are closing in on seventy years of age, as these vines were planted in 1955! The 2023 version is outstanding, offering up a pure and complex aromatic constellation of lime, pear, green apple, a lovely foundation of chalky soil tones, fruit blossoms and a touch of anise in the upper register. On the palate the wine is full-bodied, complex, mineral-driven and shows off beautiful depth of fruit in the mid-palate. The finish is long, zesty and impeccably balanced. Fine, fine juice. Drink between 2028-2055.” John Gilman 94 points
“Oyster shells, lemon ice box pie, yellow grapefruit and crushed flint give the nose and palate an exotic sweet-savory profile. There is lovely sapidity, brow-raising energy and a whirlwind of complexity. These 65-year-old vines sit in white clay soils that are entirely distinctive from the rest of Butteaux.” Tim Atkin 93 points
“Just racked and sulphured. Perhaps the movement enforces the more exotic side, and removes the reductive aspect. This is still a solid and concentrated wine, but less easy to read today. Drink from 2028-2033. Tasted Jun 2024.” Jasper Morris 90-93 points
“From 60+ year old vines. This is quite firmly reduced and revealing nothing today. Otherwise, the delicious middle weight plus flavors possess better volume and more evident power on the sappy, lingering and well-balanced finale. I wouldn’t describe this as racy but I really like the mouthfeel thanks to the sappy dry extract provided by the old vines.” Burghound 89-92 points
